Our big girl is sitting up this week! She has been trying for so very long and now she can finally sit up, all by herself, with no extra help. She can sit for quite a few minutes before she topples over.

We haven't given any more solid foods this week. We've been busy in the evenings and Lila has been going to bed within about an hour to an hour and a half of getting home at night, so we mostly want to play with and snuggle her instead of bothering with food and the messiness it entails.
Today I left for a few hours to get a haircut and pick up some dog food for the pups. When I came home Ed held up a chomped up chunk of home-grown cucumber while Lila smiled proudly. Seems as though a cucumber spear is Lila's new favorite teething "toy". Ha!
This week we're heading to a family reunion about 7 hours away. I'm hoping that Lila's first road trip goes as smoothly as her first plane trip went. We're excited for her to meet more of her great grandparents and great aunts and uncles, and also catch up with two sets of grandparents and her aunt. It will be a busy week for our little girl! Lila's hoping to meet her new baby friend while we're there as well, but that sweet girl has yet to arrive. For her mama's sake, we all hope that she is born soon - being pregnant and overdue during the hottest part of the summer must be awful. C'mon, Baby S!
