Last Sunday, Lila turned 34 weeks old. Here she is in her Vikings purple! The Vikings didn't win, but she sure looked cute!

Today Lila is 35 weeks old! This picture is quite appropriate for the big announcement Lila has for today. See that tube in her hand? It's her teething gel...for her NEW TEETH! She nabbed it while I was getting her dressed this morning and wouldn't let go. It seems fitting that her picture this week - the week of TEETH - is one with teething gel in her hand. :)

On Monday I picked up Lila from daycare and I thought I saw a tooth poking out. When we got home, Ed and I tipped her head back and poked around but no tooth. I figured I had been imagining things. Thursday night Lila was inconsolable before bed. We should have known, but she slept well that night so we thought nothing of it once she fell asleep. On Friday- the day Lila turned 8 months old! - I arrived at daycare and her daycare ladies were thrilled to inform me that not one but TWO teeth are on their way! She's been feeling pretty good, except for nighttime right before bed. Tonight I put some teething gel on her gums and felt the bottom of the teeth poking through. I think that Lila will have a few pearly whites to show off before next weekend!
Here's our sweet girl after her evening bath. There's not much that's cuter than a clean baby in a hoodie towel.

Have I mentioned that Lila and the puppies are best buddies? Lila and Wally, chilling on the couch.

You might remember that a few months back Lila's grandpa made her a set of wood blocks. Lila has loved carrying around and gumming the blocks, but today she sat down and played with the blocks. Mom and Dad stacked towers and she knocked them down. She reached for and inspected block after block, turning them in her hands and tasting them for good measure.

At dinner tonight Ed and I were saying how we could just "freeze" her at this age. She's so much fun. She's independent but not getting into everything yet, she's still little but not completely dependent and nursing every hour. We love her smiles, giggles, and little girl cuddles. She's so much fun right now.

I can hardly believe that our girl is 8 months old. When Lila was about 8 weeks old, we took her to a friend's baby's first birthday party. She slept the entire time. There was another baby there who was sitting contentedly on a blanket playing. She had dark hair and eyes and had very similar features to Lila. Ed and I were fascinated by this baby. We could hardly take our eyes off of her. We could barely imagine Lila ever growing to be that big. I think that baby was probably about 6 months old. On that day, 6 months old seemed so far away. And now our girl is 8 months old! Everyone said it would happen and we didn't believe it - she is growing up so fast. I want to smoosh her up and snuggle her and love her and remember these months forever and ever.
Happy 8 months, Baby Love.
